For the 2024 PAD Art and Design fair in London, the Galerie Gastou presents an exhibition focusing on classic elegance, noble materials, luxurious décor, and exceptional savoir-faire. Featuring the "Diderot" living room set by Guy de Rougemont, a spectacular suspended wall buffet by Jeanette Laverrière, a pair of baroque and ornate “Perles” candelabra by André Dubreuil, and a the historic, monumental sculpture "La Banquière" by Philippe Hiquily. The “Araignée” dining table by Victor Roman in cast bronze with a rich, dark patina, graces the center of the ensemble, promising a glimpse into the epitome of luxury and design mastery. The ensemble is presented in a scenography framed with wall panels by Emilio Terry, originally designed for the prestigious Parisian offices of the Nahmias brothers. With intricate Greek frieze details, the panels exude a timeless elegance. In place of the former doors and windows, the space is adorned with plaques of engraved brass and maillechort by Emmanuel Jonckers, a master engraver known for his work with noble materials. This blend of historical and artistic elements creates a visually stunning and sophisticated environment. The ensemble is completed with contemporary works from Agnès Debizet, Béatrice Serre, and Emmanuel Jonckers, whose creations in ceramic, mosaic, and engraved metal respectively serve as an elegant complement to the historic presentation.
