On the occasion of Design Miami. Basel 2024, Galerie is proud to present a selection of iconic works from the masters Shiro Kuramata, Gaetano Pesce, Ettore Sottsass, Andrea Branzi, Monique Rozanès, and Béatrice Serre.
Dive into an exploration of the fusion of plastic materials through a juxtaposition of design philosophies: the Zen minimalism of Shiro Kuramata and the Baroque extravagance of Gaetano Pesce.
With an aim to promote the beauty of plastic while creating a harmonious dialogue between seemingly opposing styles, the exhibition notably showcases the emblematic "Cabinet de Curiosités" of Shiro Kuramata.
Marie-Anne Derville has orchestrated a dialogue between the works that highlights the minimalist scene, underscoring the transformative potential of plastic to convey the serene balance of Kuramata's minimalism and the lavish theatricality of Pesce's designs. -
